 " Laser Guided ATGM " Test Fired

Laser Guided Anti Tank Missile(ATGM), an indigenously developed, was successfully test fired from MBT Arjun Tank at KK ranges, Armoured corps centre and school, Ahmednagar on 22nd september, 2020.

Armament research & Development establishment(ARDE), pune in association with High Energy Materials research laboratory(HEMRL), pune and Instruments research & development establishment(IRDE), Dehradun have developed the missile.

In these test the ATGM successfully defeated a target located at 3 KM

The missile employs a tandem HEAT warhead to defeat explosive reactive armour(ERA) protected around vehicles. It has been developed with multiple platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials from gun of MBT gun.

The Arjun tank is a third generation main bathe tank developed by the DRDO.

It significantly enhance the fire power capability of the Indian Army particularly along the frontiers with Pakistan and China.

Defense minister Shree Rajanath Singh congratulated the DRDO.
