Rakshita : Bike Ambulance by DRDO

👉DRDO make Royal Enfield classic 350cc modified into bike ambulance Rakshita for CRPF. 

👉As many  as 21  ' Rakshita inducted  into 'bike  ambulances were Central  Reserve  Police  Force ( CRPF )  , For the  evacuation  of the  security  force in  remote regions.



👉Dr AP  Maheshwari,  DG  CRPF  and  Dr AK  Singh,  DS & DG (LS),  DRDO unveiled  the  bike ambulance  at CRPF  Headquarters in  New  Delhi.

👉Rakshita created  on  350cc  Royal Enfield  Classic  bikes By  the Institute  of  Nuclear  Medicine and  Allied  Sciences ( INMAS) , A scientific  research  body  under the DRDO.

👉Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) was established in 1956,As a Radiation Cell at DefenceScience Laboratory, Delhi, at the instance of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru to harness nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

👉DG CRPF expressed  his  gratitude  to team  INMAS for  their unrelenting  efforts put  in  developing  the bike  ambulance  and  commended  their  tireless dedication  and  professional  efficiency.

👉Dr  AK Singh,  DS  &  DG  (LS),  DRDO  said, "In  its endeavour the  nation, to  provide  impregnable  internal  security  to CRPF is  actively  deployed  across  the  country Most  of  these  deployments  are in remote  and  inhospitable areas  like Left  Wing  Extremism  (LWE)  affected  areas, North  East,  etc. Where  evacuation  of  sick  or  battle  injured  personnel becomes  a  challenge .”

👉"Many  times, late  evacuation results  in the  loss  of precious  lives of  CRPF. To mitigate  this,  in 2018 CRPF approached INMAS  with  the  idea  of  developing  an ambulance on motorbikes which  is  frequently  used  by  CRPF for  patrolling  in these  theatres . "

👉The CRPF ,  the lead  force  for  antiNaxal  operations  and internal  security  in the country,  first  toyed  with the  bike  ambulance  idea  in February,  2018 When the Chhattisgarh's troops  of  its  85th  battalion  deployed  in Bijapur evacuate  casualties district used  their patrolling  bikes  to from  remote  areas  under  its  jurisdiction.

👉That  has customised design reclining,  hand  immobilizer (CSE) and harness jacket , physiological  parameter  measuring  equipment with  monitoring capability  and auto  warning  system  for the  driver,  dashboard LCD for measuring  vital  parameters, mounted air  splint  medical  and  oxygen  kit, saline  and  oxygen  administration on  the  move, adjustable  footrest and  hand  and  foot strap  for safety  among  others.
